yes!!! success so far! i planted them a couple of days ago and today when i woke up... i saw them poking through! this is actually the first time i planted anything; who has to when your parents plant everything. hopefully they will do well and we can have some yummy tomatoes.
i won't go into detail about the earthquake that was felt in toronto, as i'm sure everyone has read a million of them already, but in short here's my story. i was with my agent at a condo on the 6th floor talking about the building when it started to shake and sway moderately violently; it actually felt as if the building wanted to collapse. we looked out the window and people on the street did not seem to feel anything; we promptly left the building and found out later that it was indeed an earthquake.
midtown toronto is not looking very good for me in terms of buying a place; prices are high, less new buildings, and demand is high. i have broaden my search to again include downtown toronto. so if anyone knows any good buildings or good neighbourhoods, shoot them this way cause i haven't looked d/t in awhile.
last but not least, there has been so much attention placed on the police presence in toronto for the g20 meet; i know it's weird, but i secretly want there to be big protests and demonstrations just so that the police can do some work and keep order. it would at least make spending 1.1 billion dollars for security measures feel like it was worth it. don't you agree?
long wait times at the emergency room? look no further than the hospital trying to budget, closing beds and cutting staff. it's not the doctors or nurses, it's management. but with all that being said, people are more willing to pay hundreds and thousands of dollars on clothes, handbags, electronics and cars, but not on healthcare. it is what it is and staffing will always be an issue at the hospital when you're short staffed and no one wants to pay up.
